Solitude
We need not be afraid or hesitant to practice the discipline of solitude. At first, it may seem uncomfortable to be alone with our own thoughts and difficult to put aside the ever-present demands of our busy lives. But God, in His love and mercy, calls us by name and invites us to come into that intimate place where only He remains. It is in this place of encounter that our hearts are laid bare and our motives revealed. It is here that we are brought face to face with our weakness and the strength of His love. He is strong enough to handle anything that rises from the depths of our hearts as we are still and alone before Him. It is here in His presence that we are transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit. It is here that we drink and are filled. May you be encouraged as you spend time alone with God today!
